Adding an Accessible IP Address or IP Address Segment

This section describes how to add an IP address or IP address segment that can be used to access a CIFS share.

Context

Procedure

  1. Choose Resources > Resources > Share > CIFS Share.
  2. Select a desired account from the Account drop-down list in the upper left corner.
  3. Click More on the right of a CIFS share and select Add Accessible IP Address/Address Segment.

    The Add Accessible IP Address/Address Segment page is displayed on the right.

    Alternatively, perform either of the following operations to add an IP address or IP address segment:

    • Click the name of a desired CIFS share. On the details page that is displayed, click Add in the Accessible IP Address/Segment area.
    • Click the name of a desired CIFS share. In the upper right corner of the details page that is displayed, select Add Accessible IP Address/Address Segment from the Operation drop-down list.

  4. In IP Address/Address Segment, specify the IP addresses or IP address segments.

    • You can enter multiple IP addresses or IP address segments and separate them with commas (,) or by pressing Enter.
    • You can enter a maximum of 1024 IP addresses or IP address segments.
    • The format of an IP address segment is as follows:
      • A single IPv4 address, for example, 192.168.1.100.
      • Single IPv6 address: for example, fc00::1234.
    • The format of an IP address segment is as follows:
      • IPv4 address segment: IPv4 address/mask. The mask value ranges from 1 to 32, for example, 192.168.1.10-192.168.1.11/30.
      • IPv6 address segment: IPv6 address/prefix. The prefix value ranges from 1 to 128, for example, fc00::1234-fc00::2000/64.
      • The start and end IP addresses of an IP address segment must be on the same network segment.
    • Special IP addresses 0.0.0.0, 127.*.*.*, 224-255.*.*.*, ::, ::1, FF00::/8, and FE80::/10 are not allowed.

  5. Click OK.
