Viewing Migration Policies

This section describes how to view migration policies of a namespace.

Context

Procedure

  1. Choose Resources > Tuning > SmartTier > Migration Policy.
  2. Select a desired account from the Account drop-down list in the upper left corner.
  3. Select a desired file directory from the list on the left. Migration policies created for the file directory are displayed in the function pane on the right. Table 1 describes related parameters.

    • For a directory, if it is created with a policy, such policy is applied preferentially. If the directory is not created with a policy, it inherits the policy created for its parent directory.
    • When a file applies to multiple periodical migration policies, the priority of a policy is determined by its position in the table. Policies are sorted in descending order of priority. By default, policies are sorted by creation time. You can click Up or Down to change the location of a policy in the table.
    Table 1 Migration policy parameters

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

    Name of a migration policy.

    ID

    ID of a migration policy.

    Tier Grade

Tier grade of a migration policy. Files that meet the migration policy will be migrated to a disk pool at this tier grade.

    Policy Type

Filter policy type of a migration policy. Possible values are Intelligent tiering and Custom.

    File Name Filtering

File name filtering policy of a migration policy.

    User or User Group

User or user group filtering policy of a migration policy.

    File Size

Size of files for which a migration policy takes effect.

    Execution Mode

Execution mode of a migration policy. The options are Periodical and One-off.

    Scenario-Specific SmartCompression Mode

Scenario-specific SmartCompression mode of a migration policy. The options are Compression and Decompression.

    NOTE:

When Service Type is set to General, scenario-specific SmartCompression modes can be configured only after an advanced license is imported. When Service Type is set to Intelligent video and image or Media, no scenario-specific SmartCompression mode can be configured.

    Task Status

Current task status of a migration policy.

    • Initiating: If a migration policy is configured for a directory for the first time, the directory is in this state before the first migration start time is reached.
    • To be scheduled: The migration start time has elapsed and the task is waiting to be executed.
    • Running: The task is running.
    • Complete: The task is complete.

    Time Policy

File operation time filtering policy of a migration policy.

    Prefix

Prefix filtering policy of a migration policy.

    Tag

Tag filtering policy of a migration policy.

    Days Since Current Version Created

Objects of the current version will be migrated after being created for a specified number of days.

    Migration Date of Current Version

Objects of the current version will be migrated when a specified date arrives.

    Days Since Noncurrent Version Created

Objects will be migrated after becoming a noncurrent version for a specified number of days.

    Migration Type

Migration type of a migration policy, including Migrate to a heterogeneous device and Retrieve from a heterogeneous device.

    Compression

Whether to enable the compression function when files are migrated to a heterogeneous device.

    Aggregation

Whether to enable the aggregation function when small files are migrated to a heterogeneous device.

    Data Encryption

Whether to enable the data encryption function when files are migrated to a heterogeneous device.

    Retention Period After Retrieval

Retention duration for files retrieved from a heterogeneous device. If no modification is made to the file data, after the retention period expires, the local data is deleted and the data on the heterogeneous device is retained. Otherwise, the data on the heterogeneous device is deleted, and the local data is retained.

    NOTE:
    • Retrieve from a heterogeneous device is available only when Execution Mode is set to One-off.
    • If the Task Status for retrieving data back from a heterogeneous device is Failed, generally it is because the heterogeneous device fails to be connected. For example, the network connection is abnormal, the network is unstable, or the heterogeneous device's bucket associated with the namespace is deleted, or you do not have the permission to access the bucket.
