Creating a Quorum Server

This operation enables you to create a third-party quorum server for HyperMetro domains. When the communication between storage devices in a HyperMetro pair becomes abnormal, the quorum server decides which site continues to provide services, thereby greatly improving service continuity.

Prerequisites

A replication cluster has been configured.

Procedure

  1. Choose Data Protection > Configuration > Quorum Server.
  2. Click Create.

The Create Quorum Server page is displayed.

  3. Set the properties of the quorum server. Table 1 describes related parameters.

    Table 1 Quorum server parameters

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

    Name of the quorum server.

    [Value range]

    • The name must be unique.
    • The name contains 1 to 31 characters.
    • The name can only contain digits, letters, underscores (_), and hyphens (-), and must start with a digit or letter.

    Active IP Address

IP address of the quorum server.

    Active Port

Active port ID of the quorum server.

The value ranges from 1 to 65535.

    Standby IP Address

Standby IP address of the quorum server.

    Standby Port

ID of the standby port of the quorum server.

The value ranges from 1 to 65535.

  4. Click OK.

After creating the quorum server, you need to replace certificates for the storage clusters at both ends of the HyperMetro pair and for the quorum server to ensure normal communication between the storage systems and quorum server. For details, see Replacing the HyperMetro Arbitration Security Certificate.
