Creating a Snapshot

A snapshot can be created to generate a copy of the source dtree at the current point in time. A snapshot is available immediately after it is created. Read operations on the snapshot do not affect the data in the source dtree.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. Choose Data Protection > Protection Entity > Dtree > Snapshot.
  2. Select the desired account from the Account drop-down list in the upper left corner.
  3. Select the owning namespace of the dtree.
  4. Click Create.

    The Create Snapshot page is displayed on the right.

  5. Set snapshot parameters. Table 1 describes related parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Owning Namespace

    Namespace to which the dtree belongs.

    Selected Dtrees

    Click on the right of Selected Dtrees, select one or more dtrees for which you want to create snapshots, and the dtrees are added to the Selected Dtrees area.

    Name

    Name of a snapshot.

    NOTE:
    • The name contains 1 to 255 characters.
    • The name can contain only letters, digits, and underscores (_), and must start with a letter.

  6. Click OK.
