Setting the Compression Period

This operation enables you to set the execution period of a compression policy for the current directory.

Prerequisites

A periodical compression policy has been configured for a file directory.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resources > Tuning > SmartCompression.
  2. Select a desired account from the Account drop-down list in the upper left corner.
  3. Select a file directory from the list on the left and click Execute At.

    The Execute At page is displayed.

  4. Set the compression period.

    • Data is compressed at the specified time every day.
      1. Set the interval for executing the compression policy, in days.
      2. Set the time point for executing the compression policy. The time point is based on the time zone where the storage system is located. The value can be 0, 15, 30, or 45 minutes in each hour from 00:00 to 23:45.
    • Data is compressed at the specified time every week.

      Set the time point in a week for executing the compression policy. The time point is based on the time zone where the storage system is located. The value can be 0, 15, 30, or 45 minutes in each hour from 00:00 on Monday to 23:45 on Sunday.

    • Data is compressed at the specified time every month.

      Set the time point in a month for executing the compression policy. The time point is based on the time zone where the storage system is located. The value can be 0, 15, 30, or 45 minutes in each hour from 00:00 the first day to 23:45 the last day in a month.

  5. Click OK.
