A target volume stores a point-in-time data duplicate of the source common volume only after the pair is split. The data duplicate can be used to recover the source common volume in the event that the source common volume is damaged. In addition, the data duplicate is accessible in scenarios such as application testing and data analysis.
Prerequisites
- A SmartMove pair has been created.
- Running Status of the SmartMove pair is Normal.
Precautions
- After a SmartMove pair is split, write requests sent by production hosts to the source common volume will no longer be synchronized to the target volume.
Procedure
- Choose Resources > Dataflow > SmartMove.
- Select a desired pair and click Split.
You can also click More on the right of a desired SmartMove pair and select Split.
- Click OK.
- Confirm your operation as prompted.
