Adding an Object Cluster

Prerequisites

• If the current cluster is a non-default object cluster, this operation cannot be performed.
• NTP synchronization must be configured for each cluster. You are advised to use the same NTP time source. For details, see Time SettingsRoutine Management > Managing Storage System Settings > Configuring the System Time in the . Administrators are not allowed to manually adjust the time of cluster nodes. Otherwise, conflict processing may be different, causing data inconsistency.

Procedure

1. Choose Settings > Object Service Settings > Global Namespace.
2. Click Add Object Cluster.

   The Add Object Cluster page is displayed on the right.

3. Set object cluster parameters. Table 1 describes related parameters.

   Parameter	Description
   Name	Name of a cluster. The name cannot be modified after the cluster is created. [Value range] The name contains 1 to 128 characters. The name can contain only letters, digits, hyphens (-), and underscores (_), and must start with a letter and cannot end with a hyphen (-) or underscore (_).
   Floating Mgmt. IP Address	Floating IP address used for logging in to DeviceManager of the current cluster and communication between clusters. This parameter cannot be set using the secondary management IP address. The name cannot be modified after the cluster is created.
   Cluster Domain Name	Domain name of a cluster. [Value range] A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-). A sub-domain name cannot start or end with a hyphen (-). The domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each sub-domain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only. A maximum of 128 domain names with no hierarchical relationship can be entered. Separate the domain names with semicolons (;). NOTE: The number of cluster domain names must be the same as that of global domain names.
   Username	User name for logging in to DeviceManager.
   Password	Password for logging in to DeviceManager.

4. Click OK.
