This section describes how to add non-default regions to implement global unified management.
Prerequisites
- You can add a non-default region only to the default object cluster in the default region.
- NTP synchronization must be configured for each region. You are advised to use the same NTP time source. For details, see Time Settings. Administrators are not allowed to manually adjust the time of nodes in the region. Otherwise, conflict processing may be different, causing data inconsistency.
Context
Supports deployment of multiple regions. Each region contains one or more available object clusters. In the default region, you can create regions and enable other created non-default regions. In a non-default region, you can only view and modify its properties.
Procedure
- Choose Settings > Object Service Settings > Global Namespace.
- Click Add Region.
The Add Region page is displayed on the right.
- Set region parameters. Table 1 describes related parameters.
Table 1 Region parameters
Parameter |
Description |
Name |
Name of a region, which must be unique. The name cannot be modified after the region is created. [Value range]
- The name contains 1 to 32 characters.
- The name can contain letters, digits, and hyphens (-), and must start with a letter and cannot end with a hyphen (-).
|
Region Domain Name |
Domain name of a region. [Value range]
- A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-). A sub-domain name cannot start or end with a hyphen (-).
- The domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each sub-domain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only.
- A maximum of 128 domain names with no hierarchical relationship can be entered. Separate the domain names with semicolons (;).
NOTE:
- You can set a domain name for each region as the access point of the object service in the region. Plan and apply for region domain names in advance based on the network configuration.
- The number of region domain names must be the same as that of global domain names.
|
Cluster Name |
Name of the default cluster in the region.
[Value range]
- The name contains 1 to 128 characters.
- The name consists of letters, digits, hyphens (-), and underscores (_), and must start with a letter and cannot end with a hyphen (-) or underscore (_).
|
Floating Mgmt. IP Address |
Floating IP address of DeviceManager of the default cluster in the region, which is used for communication between clusters. This parameter cannot be set using the secondary management IP address. |
Cluster Domain Name |
Domain name of the default cluster in the region.
|
Username |
User name of DeviceManager of the default cluster in the region. |
Password |
Password of DeviceManager of the default cluster in the region. |
- Click OK.
