If no subnet is created in the storage system, you can create a subnet for configuring the service plane of the file service, object service, or HDFS service.
- This operation will modify the configuration file of the service subnet network port. You do not need to manually modify the configuration file.
Procedure
- Choose Resources > Access > Service Network.
- Create a subnet.
- If the number of subnets is 0, click Create Subnet.
- If the number of subnets is not 0, click
> Create.
- Set basic information about the subnet.

Description
Subnet Name
Name of the subnet.
NOTE:- The name contains 1 to 31 characters.
- The name can contain only letters, digits, underscores (_), hyphens (-), and periods (.).
- The name must start with a letter and cannot end with an underscore (_), hyphen (-), or period (.).
IP Address Type
IP address type of the subnet. The value can be IPv4 or IPv6.
NOTE:The value cannot be modified after the subnet is created, or you can only delete the subnet and create a new one.
Subnet Gateway
Gateway of the subnet IP address.
Subnet Mask
When an IPv4 address is used, this parameter indicates the subnet mask of the storage IPv4 address.
Subnet Prefix
When an IPv6 address is used, this parameter indicates the prefix length of the storage IPv6 address.
General DNS Service
After the general DNS service is enabled, a sub-domain name is set for a zone, and the DNS service is enabled for the zone, you can access the file service and HDFS service in the zone through a domain name. You are advised to enable the general DNS service.
NOTE:This parameter needs to be configured only when the file or HDFS service is enabled in the storage system.
IP Address of General DNS Service in Subnet
After the general DNS service is enabled, set the value to the DNS IP address that can communicate with the service IP address of the storage system in the subnet. This IP address is used to create the DNS service. Ensure that the IP address is unique.
Subnet Root Domain Name
After the general DNS service is enabled, set the value to the root domain name of the subnet.
Object DNS Service
This function must be enabled if you need to access the object service through a domain name.
NOTE:This parameter is displayed only when the object service is enabled in the storage system. This parameter is not applicable to the file and HDFS services.
IP Address of Object DNS Service in Subnet
After the object DNS service is enabled, set the value to the object DNS IP address that can communicate with the service IP address of the storage system in the subnet. This IP address is used to create the DNS service. Ensure that the IP address is unique.
VLAN Tagging
Whether to enable the function of automatically creating VLANs for service ports in the subnet. Before enabling this function, configure the VLAN of the service switch.
NOTE:- By default, this option is deselected (disabled). In this case, created VLANs or physical ports or bond ports are used. If this option is selected (enabled), the system automatically creates VLANs.
- Before enabling VLAN Tagging, you need to configure the VLAN of the switch. This function supports the trunk mode and the hybrid tagged mode, but not the access mode and the hybrid untagged mode.
VLAN ID
VLAN ID of the subnet. The VLAN ID must be the same as that configured on the switch.
NOTE:This parameter can be set only after VLAN Tagging is enabled. Due to the limitation of the OS on the length of network port names, the total length of the network port name and .vlanId added to the subnet cannot exceed 15 bytes. The value of vlanId is a number ranging from 2 to 4094.
For example, if you create a VLAN with a vlanId of 15 for a network port named enp130s0f0np0, the VLAN port name is enp130s0f0np0.15, which exceeds 15 bytes. As a result, the VLAN port creation fails. If you need to use the network port, contact R&D engineers to shorten the port length.
- Click OK.
- Click Close.
