Modifying a Heterogeneous Device

This section describes how to modify the access and service information of a heterogeneous device interconnected with the storage system when the information about the heterogeneous device changes.

Prerequisites

Heterogeneous devices have been added.

Procedure

  1. Choose Cluster > Cluster > Heterogeneous Device.
  2. Click More on the right of a desired heterogeneous device and select Modify.

The Modify Heterogeneous Device page is displayed on the right.

  3. Set the name of the heterogeneous device.

    • The name contains 1 to 128 characters.
    • The heterogeneous device name can contain letters, digits, hyphens (-), and underscores (_). It must start with a letter and cannot end with a hyphen (-) or underscore (_).

  4. Set the service information about the heterogeneous device. Table 1 describes related parameters.

Table 1 Service information about the heterogeneous device

    Parameter

    Description

    URL

Service IP address of the heterogeneous device.

    [Value range]

    • Address format: IPv4/[IPv6]/Domain name:Port/Path
    • You can enter an IPv4 address, IPv6 address, or domain name. An IPv6 address must be enclosed in square brackets ([]), for example, [fc00::1234]. A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-) and cannot start or end with a hyphen (-). The domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each subdomain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only.
    • Special IP addresses 0.0.0.0, 224-255.*.*.*, ::, ::1, FF00::/8, and FE80::/10 are not allowed.
    • Port ranges from 1 to 65535 and is optional.
    NOTE:

If the heterogeneous device is a Blu-ray storage device and Verify Device Identity Certificate is selected, you need to enter the domain name of the Blu-ray storage device.

    Protocol

Access protocol of the heterogeneous device. Possible options are HTTPS or HTTP.

    NOTE:
    • HTTP has security risks. HTTPS is recommended.
    • If the heterogeneous device is a Blu-ray storage device, only HTTPS is supported.

    Service CA Certificate

If you select Verify Device Identity Certificate, you need to import a service CA certificate to interconnect the storage system with the heterogeneous device. To ensure interconnection security, you are advised to import a service CA certificate.

    NOTE:
    • This parameter is displayed only when Protocol is set to HTTPS.
    • You can also import a CA certificate after the heterogeneous device is added by choosing Settings > Certificate > Certificate Management and selecting Heterogeneous device service certificate.

    Verify Device Identity Certificate

Whether to verify the device identity security certificate. To ensure interconnection security, you are advised to enable this function.

    NOTE:

This parameter is displayed only when Protocol is set to HTTPS.

    AK

Account AK of the heterogeneous device that interconnects with the storage system. The account must have the read, write, and delete permissions for all objects in the bucket of the heterogeneous device.

    SK

Account SK of the heterogeneous device that interconnects with the storage system. The account must have the read, write, and delete permissions for all objects in the bucket of the heterogeneous device.

    Authentication

Set this parameter based on the current authentication mode of the heterogeneous device. The value can be V2 or V4.

    Region

Name of the region where the bucket that provides services on the heterogeneous device resides.

    NOTE:

This parameter is mandatory only when Authentication is set to V4.

    [Value range]

    • The name contains 1 to 128 characters.
    • The value can contain letters, digits, and hyphens (-), and must start with a letter and cannot end with a hyphen (-).

  5. Click OK.
