Configuring a Single iSCSI IP Address

Prerequisites

The iSCSI service has been enabled on a server.

Procedure

1. Choose Resources > Access > Service Network.
2. Click More on the right of a desired server and select Configure iSCSI IP Address.

   The Configure iSCSI IP Address page is displayed.

3. Configure the iSCSI IP address. Table 1 describes related parameters.

   Parameter	Description
   Port	Port for which the iSCSI IP address will be configured. If the storage network is separated from the service network (iSCSI), select the planned independent iSCSI IP port. If the storage network and service network (iSCSI) are deployed in converged mode, select the port for which the storage IP address is planned.
   iSCSI IP Address	IPv4 or IPv6 address of the port. If IP addresses have been configured for the selected port, the system automatically reads all IP addresses configured for the port. Select the planned iSCSI IP address. If no IP address has been configured for the selected port, manually enter the planned iSCSI IP address. NOTE: The service network (iSCSI network) cannot use the same subnet as the management, storage, or control network. In the event of using an IPv4 address: A 32-bit IPv4 address is divided into four 8-bit fields that are expressed in dotted decimal notation. Each field of the IPv4 address must be an integer. The value of the leftmost field ranges from 1 to 223 (excluding 127). The values of the other fields range from 0 to 255. An IPv4 address cannot be set to a special address such as a broadcast address. Example: 192.168.1.100 In the event of using an IPv6 address: A 128-bit IPv6 address is divided into eight 16-bit fields. Each 16-bit field consists of four colon-separated hexadecimal numbers. In each 16-bit field, leading zeros can be omitted for simplicity. However, at least one digit must be reserved in each field. To achieve further simplicity, you can use a double colon (::) in place of a series of zeros. A double colon can be used only once in an IPv6 address. It can also represent the neighboring consecutive zeros at the beginning or end of an IPv6 address. An IPv6 address cannot be set to a special one, such as a network address, loopback address, or multicast address. Example: fc00::1234
   Mask/Prefix	When an IPv4 address is used, this parameter indicates the subnet mask of the IP address and identifies the subnet to which the IP address belongs. When an IPv4 address is used, this parameter indicates the prefix length of the IPv6 address.

   

   If you enable Add IP Address, you can configure two iSCSI IP addresses at the same time. If two iSCSI IP addresses are configured, one must be an IPv4 address and the other one must be an IPv6 address. You are advised to configure both of them.

4. Click OK.
5. Confirm your operation as prompted.
