Enabling the Object Service on a Node

Prerequisites

• A storage pool has been created.
• This operation can be performed only when no node with the object service enabled exists in the storage pool. Otherwise, add nodes for the object service by referring to Adding a Node for an Enabled Service.
• The object service is supported only when Service Type is set to Intelligent video and image and a license that supports SmartInterworking is imported.

Procedure

1. Choose Resources > Resources > Services > Basic Service.
2. Click Enable Service.

   The Enable Service page is displayed.

3. Select the storage pool for which you want to enable the object service.
4. Select Add Service in Operation.
   

   This parameter is displayed only when at least one service is enabled on the nodes in the storage pool.

5. Select Object in Service Type.
6. Based on service requirements, select at least three nodes in the Available Nodes area on the left. They will be automatically added to the Selected Nodes area on the right.
   

   This operation is required only when all services (file, object, and HDFS services) of the storage pool are disabled. Otherwise, the system enables the object service for all nodes that have been enabled with another service.

7. Click OK.

   The Configure Object Service page is displayed.

8. In the Region Configuration area, configure region information.
   • Select the Multiple Clusters tab and click Yes in Default Cluster.
     1. In the Global Domain Name area, configure the domain name of the global region.
        

        • A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-). A sub-domain name cannot start or end with a hyphen (-).
        • The domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each sub-domain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only.
        • A maximum of eight domain names with no hierarchical relationship can be entered. Separate the domain names with semicolons (;).
     2. In the Region Configuration area, configure region information.

        Table 1 describes the related parameters.

        Default Region	Whether the current region is the default region.
        Region Name	Name of a region, which must be unique. [Value range] The name contains 1 to 32 characters. The name can contain letters, digits, and hyphens (-), and must start with a letter and cannot end with a hyphen (-).
        Domain Name	Domain name of a region. [Value range] A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-). A sub-domain name cannot start or end with a hyphen (-). The domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each sub-domain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only. A maximum of eight domain names with no hierarchical relationship can be entered. Separate the domain names with semicolons (;).

     3. Configure object cluster information.

        Table 2 describes the related parameters.

        Parameter	Description
        Cluster Name	Planned cluster name. The name of an object cluster must be unique and cannot be changed once being configured. [Value range] The name contains 1 to 128 characters. The name can contain only letters, digits, hyphens (-), and underscores (_), and must start with a letter and cannot end with a hyphen (-) or underscore (_).
        Domain Name	Planned cluster domain name. [Value range] A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-). A sub-domain name cannot start or end with a hyphen (-). The domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each sub-domain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only. A maximum of eight domain names with no hierarchical relationship can be entered. Separate the domain names with semicolons (;).
        Floating Mgmt. IP Address	Floating IP address used for logging in to DeviceManager and communication between clusters. This parameter cannot be set using the secondary management IP address.

     4. Configure authentication. Select an authentication type, which can be POE or IAM.
        • Configure POE authentication information. Table 3 describes the related parameters.

          Parameter	Description
          URL	URL of the POE authentication server. [Value range] The value is an IPv4 address, an IPv6 address, or a domain name. A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-), and cannot start or end with a hyphen (-). The domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each sub-domain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only. The port ranges from 1 to 65535 and is optional. [Example] 192.168.1.1:30443 or www.test.com:30443 NOTE: This parameter is mandatory when Default Region is set to No.
          AK	Access key ID (AK) of the POE authentication server. NOTE: This parameter is mandatory when Default Region is set to No.
          SK	Secret access key (SK) of the POE authentication server. NOTE: This parameter is mandatory when Default Region is set to No.
          POE Service Domain Name	Unified entry for accessing the POE service. [Value range] A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-). A sub-domain name cannot start or end with a hyphen (-). The domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each sub-domain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only. NOTE: This parameter is mandatory when Default Region is set to Yes.

        • Configure IAM authentication information. Table 4 describes the related parameters.

          URL	URL of the IAM server. [Value range] You can enter an IPv4 address or domain name. A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-), and cannot start or end with a hyphen (-). The domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each sub-domain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only. The port ranges from 1 to 65535 and is optional. The path can contain lowercase letters, digits, and special characters !#$&'()*+,/:;=?@[]-_.~, and is optional. [Example] 192.168.1.1:30443 or www.test.com:30443
          Access Protocol	Protocol used for accessing the IAM authentication server. [Value range] HTTPS
          Username	User name for logging in to the IAM authentication server [Value range] The user name contains 1 to 127 characters.
          Password	Password of the login user. [Value range] The password contains 8 to 63 characters.
          Domain ID	Domain ID of the IAM authentication server. [Value range] The domain ID contains 1 to 127 characters.
          Project Name	Project name of the IAM authentication server. [Value range] The project name contains 1 to 63 characters.
          Internal Account Password	Password of internal account op_svc_obs.

     5. Set the LS domain name. Table 5 describes the related parameters.

        LS Domain Name	Unified entry for accessing the LS service of the cluster. [Value range] A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-). A sub-domain name cannot start or end with a hyphen (-). The domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each sub-domain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only.
        RLS Primary Service Address	Primary service address of the RLS. Set the value to the domain name of the current region or the service plane floating IP address of the default cluster. [Value range] The value is an IPv4 address, an IPv6 address, or a domain name. A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-), and cannot start or end with a hyphen (-). The domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each sub-domain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only. [Example] 192.168.1.100 NOTE: This parameter is mandatory when Default Region is set to No.

   • Select the Multiple Clusters tab and click No in Default Cluster.
     1. In the Object Cluster Configuration area, set the object cluster name.
        

        • The name contains 1 to 128 characters.
        • The name can contain only letters, digits, hyphens (-), and underscores (_), and must start with a letter and cannot end with a hyphen (-) or underscore (_).
     2. Configure authentication. Select an authentication type, which can be POE or IAM.
        • Select POE authentication.
        • Configure IAM authentication information. The authentication information of non-default clusters must be the same as that of the default cluster. Table 4 describes the parameters.
   • Select the Single Cluster tab.
     1. In the Global Domain Name area, configure the domain name of the global region.
        

        • A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-). A sub-domain name cannot start or end with a hyphen (-).
        • The domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each sub-domain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only.
        • A maximum of eight domain names with no hierarchical relationship can be entered. Separate the domain names with semicolons (;).
     2. In the Region Configuration area, set the name of the object service region.
        

        • This parameter is mandatory only when IAM authentication is selected.
        • The name contains 1 to 32 characters.
        • The name can contain letters, digits, and hyphens (-), and must start with a letter and cannot end with a hyphen (-).
     3. In the Object Cluster Configuration area, set the object cluster name.
        

        • The name contains 1 to 128 characters.
        • The name can contain only letters, digits, hyphens (-), and underscores (_), and must start with a letter and cannot end with a hyphen (-) or underscore (_).
     4. Configure authentication. Select an authentication type, which can be POE or IAM.
        • Select POE authentication.
        • Configure IAM authentication information. Table 6 describes the related parameters.

          Access Protocol	Protocol used for accessing the IAM authentication server. [Value range] HTTPS
          Username	User name for logging in to the IAM authentication server [Value range] The user name contains 1 to 127 characters.
          Password	Password of the login user. [Value range] The password contains 8 to 63 characters.
          Domain ID	Domain ID of the IAM authentication server. [Value range] The domain ID contains 1 to 127 characters.
          Project Name	Project name of the IAM authentication server. [Value range] The project name contains 1 to 63 characters.
          Internal Account Password	Password of internal account op_svc_obs.

9. Confirm that the parameters are correct and click OK.
   

   After you click OK, the system starts the initialization and region configuration. Wait until the configuration is complete.

10. After the configuration is complete, click Finish.
    

    If you do not click Finish on this page, the system does not configure the region information for the object service. Choose Resources > Resources > Services > Basic Service, select Object, and click Configure Region to re-configure the region information.
