This section describes how to specify another snapshot volume as the source volume of a clone to reactivate the clone.
Prerequisites
- A clone has been created in the system.
- The clone is created for a volume snapshot.
Context
After a clone is reactivated, data in the clone volume is updated. Clone data update varies as follows:
- If you still select the original snapshot whose data has changed since the creation of the clone, the clone data will be changed to the latest snapshot data.
- If you select another snapshot, the clone data will be changed to that snapshot's data.
For example, source volume Volume1 exists on the storage system. Snapshot1 was created at 10:00 and Snapshot2 was created at 11:00 for Volume1. In addition, Clone1 was created based on Snapshot1. At 12:00, Snapshot1 was reactivated.
- If you select Snapshot1 to reactivate Clone1, the clone data becomes the data of Snapshot1 reactivated at 12:00.
- If you select Snapshot2 to reactivate Clone1, the clone data becomes the data of Snapshot2 created at 11:00.
Procedure
- Choose Resources > Resources > Volume > Volume.
- Select the desired account from the Account drop-down list in the upper left corner.
- Click More on the right of the desired clone volume and select Reactivate.
The Reactivate Volume dialog box is displayed.
- Select a snapshot and click OK.
