Deleting Volumes Later

Context

• Volumes to be deleted later are in the recycle bin. You can restore or delete the volumes in the recycle bin.
• If any of the following conditions is met, the volumes to be deleted later will be deleted immediately:
  • If the number of cloned volumes created based on a snapshot exceeds 70% of the maximum allowed number of cloned volumes, the cloned volumes created based on the snapshot and in the recycle bin will be deleted immediately when the storage system performs a background routine test every 5 minutes or a new cloned volume is created based on the snapshot. A maximum of 10 cloned volumes can be deleted at a time.
  • If the number of volumes in a storage pool exceeds 70% of the threshold, ten volumes to be deleted later will be deleted immediately when a volume is created.
  • If the capacity usage of a storage pool reaches 95%, the volumes to be deleted later in the storage pool will be deleted immediately.

Prerequisites

• Performance monitoring for volumes has been disabled.
• The volumes to be deleted are not mounted or mapped to any host.

Procedure

1. Choose Resources > Resources > Volume > Volume.
2. Select a desired account from the Account drop-down list in the upper left corner.
3. Select one or more desired volumes, click More, and select Delete Later.
   

   You can also click More on the right of a desired volume and select Delete Later.

4. Confirm your operation as prompted.
