A snapshot can be created to generate a copy of the source dtree at the current point in time. A snapshot is available immediately after it is created. Read operations on the snapshot do not affect the data in the source dtree.
Prerequisites
- A dtree has been created.
- Snapshots cannot be created for dtrees configured with compression policies.
Procedure
- Choose Data Protection > Protection Entity > Dtree > Snapshot.
- Select the desired account from the Account drop-down list in the upper left corner.
- Select the owning namespace of the dtree.
- Click Create.
The Create Snapshot page is displayed on the right.
- Set snapshot parameters. Table 1 describes related parameters.

- The name contains 1 to 255 characters.
- The name can contain only letters, digits, and underscores (_), and must start with a letter.
