Managing Alarm Thresholds

After you set thresholds for system resources, when thresholds are reached, the system generates alarms for notification.

Precautions

If there is a DPC-only node in the cluster, you can set the alarm threshold only after enabling the FSA process on the DPC node. After the alarm threshold is set, disable the process.

Procedure

  1. Choose Settings > Alarm Settings > Alarm Thresholds.

  2. Click Modify.
  3. Set alarm thresholds.

Table 1 describes the related parameters.
    Table 1 Alarm threshold parameters

    Parameter

    Description

    Disk Capacity Alarm Threshold (%)

When disk capacity usage reaches this parameter value, an alarm is generated.

    [Default value]

    96

    Port Usage Alarm Threshold (%)

When port usage reaches this parameter value, an alarm is generated.

    [Default value]

    95

CPU Usage Alarm Threshold for Storage Node (%)

When CPU and Memory Detection for Storage Node is enabled, an alarm will be generated if the CPU usage of a storage node reaches the value of this parameter.

    [Default value]

    95

Memory Usage Alarm Threshold for Storage Node (%)

When CPU and Memory Detection for Storage Node is enabled, an alarm will be generated if the memory usage of a storage node reaches the value of this parameter.

    [Default value]

    96

CPU Usage Alarm Threshold for Compute Node (%)

When CPU and Memory Detection for Compute Node is enabled, an alarm will be generated if the CPU usage of a compute node reaches the value of this parameter.

    [Default value]

    95

Memory Usage Alarm Threshold for Compute Node (%)

When CPU and Memory Detection for Compute Node is enabled, an alarm will be generated if the memory usage of a compute node reaches the value of this parameter.

    [Default value]

    96

CPU and Memory Detection for Storage Node

After this function is enabled, an alarm will be generated once the CPU or memory usage of a storage node reaches the specified threshold.

    [Default value]

    Enabled

CPU and Memory Detection for Compute Node

After this function is enabled, an alarm will be generated once the CPU or memory usage of a compute node reaches the specified threshold.

    [Default value]

    Disabled

If a node functions as both a storage node and a compute node, the thresholds and switch status set for the storage node takes effect.
