This section describes how to map a volume to hosts, host groups, or VBSs. After a volume is mapped, the corresponding application server of the host can use storage space allocated to the volume.
Context
- A volume can be mapped to multiple hosts or host groups.
- If a volume has been mapped to a host group, it cannot be mapped to any member host in this host group.
Prerequisites
A host or host group has been created.
Procedure
- Choose Resources > Resources > Volume > Volume.
- Select an account from the Account drop-down list in the upper left corner.
- Select the desired volume and click Map.
The Map Volume page is displayed.
Alternatively, you can click More on the right of a volume and choose Map to create a mapping.
- Select Host, Host Group, or VBS as required. In the Available Hosts, Available Host Groups, or Available VBSs area, select one or more objects and they are added to the Selected Hosts, Selected Host Groups, or Selected VBSs area on the right automatically.
- Click OK.
- Confirm your operation as prompted.
