Creating a DNS

Procedure

1. Choose Settings > Object Service Settings > DNS > Object Service.
2. Click Create.

   The Create DNS page is displayed on the right.

3. Set DNS parameters. Table 1 describes related parameters.

   Parameter	Description
   ID	Indicates the unique ID used to identify the IP address to be monitored. You are advised to set an ID in a format similar to Node name + Monitoring type to facilitate identification. The ID cannot be modified after the DNS is created. [Value range] The value contains 1 to 15 characters. The value can contain letters, digits, and hyphens (-) and cannot start with a digit, def-osc, def-ls, or def-poe.
   Monitoring IP Address	Indicates the IP address to be monitored. [Value range] The value can be an IPv4 or IPv6 address.
   Service Type	Indicates the name of the monitored service, including OSC, POE, and LS. OSC, POE, and LS are used to resolve the cluster domain name, POE authentication service domain name, and LS domain name, respectively. The service type cannot be modified after the DNS is created. NOTE: The OSC, POE, and LS services must be configured during POE authentication. In other authentication scenarios, only the OSC and LS services need to be configured. You are advised to configure required service types for each node.
   Service Address	Indicates the IP address used to provide services for external systems. [Value range] When Service Type is set to OSC, the value can be an IPv4 address or domain name. A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including letters, digits, and hyphens (-) and cannot start or end with a hyphen (-). The domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each sub-domain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only. When Service Type is set to POE, LS, or REP, the value can be an IPv4 address.
   Resource	The default value is 1 and does not need to be modified.

4. Click OK.
