iBMC is a remote management system. It monitors and manages hardware in a highly reliable manner. After the password of a node in the iBMC system is changed, you need to perform the operations described in this section to change the password on DeviceManager. Otherwise, DeviceManager cannot monitor or manage hardware.
Procedure
- Choose Cluster > Cluster > Hardware.
- In the lower part of the function pane, select nodes and click Configure iBMC Password.
The Configure iBMC Password page is displayed.
You can also click More on the right of a desired node and select Configure iBMC Password. In this case, you cannot select other nodes. Just go to 4.
- Click
on the right of Selected Nodes. In the displayed list, select nodes (they will be automatically added to the selected nodes on the right).
- Select a password configuration type and set the password.
- Change synchronously: Changes the iBMC passwords on the local storage nodes and the node passwords configured on iBMC at the same time.
- Select Change synchronously.
- Enter the user name, old password, and new password and confirm the new password. The user name must be an existing iBMC user. You are advised to use the default iBMC user.
- Change locally: Changes the iBMC passwords on the local storage nodes. Ensure that the iBMC passwords are the same as the node passwords configured on iBMC.
- Select Change locally.
- Enter the user name and password. The user name must be an existing iBMC user. You are advised to use the default iBMC user.
