Viewing Namespaces

This section describes how to view basic information about a namespace.

Context

Procedure

  1. Choose Resources > Resources > Namespace.
  2. Select the desired account from the Account drop-down list in the upper left corner.
  3. View information about namespaces of the selected account in the function pane. Table 1 describes related parameters.

    Table 1 Namespace parameters

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

Indicates the name of a namespace.

    ID

Indicates the ID of a namespace.

    Data Encryption

Indicates whether to enable data encryption for the namespace.

    NOTE:

To use the data encryption function, you need to import an advanced license.

    Encryption Algorithm

Indicates the encryption algorithm used after data encryption is enabled.

    Storage Pool

Indicates the storage pool to which a namespace belongs.

    Running Status

Indicates the running status of a namespace. The value is Normal.

    Space Quota Usage

Indicates the ratio of the size of files written to a namespace to the space hard quota.

    NOTE:

The size of written files is rounded up in the unit of 4 KB.

    File Quantity Quota Usage

Indicates the ratio of the number of files written to a namespace to the file quantity hard quota.

    NOTE:

When the protection status of the secondary resource in a remote replication pair is Access prohibited, Space Quota Usage and File Quantity Quota Usage of the corresponding namespace are displayed as --. The actual quota usage of the namespace is displayed only when the secondary resource protection status is Read/Write.

    Data Protection

Indicates the data protection information of the namespace.

    Snapshot Directory Visibility

Indicates whether the snapshot directory of a namespace is visible.

    Redundancy Ratio

Indicates the redundancy ratio of a namespace.

    Security Style

Indicates a security mode of a namespace. Possible options are:

    • Mixed: applies to the scenario where users of CIFS clients (using SMB) and UNIX clients (using NFS/HDFS/DPC) can access and control namespaces. In this mode, the permissions are subject to the last permissions set for CIFS clients or UNIX clients. CIFS permissions (NT ACL) and UNIX permissions (UNIX Mode/POSIX ACL/NFSv4 ACL) do not coexist.
    • UNIX: applies to the scenario where UNIX mode bits, POSIX ACLs, or NFSv4 ACLs control user permissions.
    NOTE:

In Mixed mode (which supports NT ACLs), if you have configured an NT ACL for a file or directory on a Windows client and switched Mixed to UNIX, the NT ACL in Mixed mode will become invalid.

    Automatic Update of Atime

Atime indicates the time when a namespace is accessed. After this function is enabled, the system updates the access time of a namespace based on the value of Update Frequency.

    Update Frequency

Indicates the Atime update frequency. The value can be Hourly or Daily.

    Recycle Bin

Whether the recycle bin is enabled for a namespace.

    SmartIndexing

Whether metadata indexing is enabled for a namespace.

    Audit Log

Whether the audit log function is enabled for a namespace.

    DPC

Whether DPC is enabled for a namespace.

    • You can click the name of the desired namespace to view its general, quota, protocol, protection, and WORM information.
    • When the system is being upgraded, the WORM information of the namespace may be incorrect. View the WORM information after the upgrade is complete.
