Managing Route Configuration

This chapter describes how to configure the route information for physical ports, bond ports, and VLANs.

Context

Static routes are manually configured to control route selection of a network precisely. However, static routes cannot be automatically switched.

Policy-based routes are configured for route selection based on user-defined routing policies. After a policy-based route is configured, if received packets (including layer-2 packets) match a routing policy, they are forwarded based on the policy. Otherwise, such packets are forwarded based on the destination address configured in a static route.
