This section describes how to enable the file service for a node in a storage pool.
Prerequisites
- A storage pool has been created.
- This operation can be performed only when no node with the file service enabled exists in the storage pool. Otherwise, add nodes for the file service by referring to Adding a Node for an Enabled Service.
Procedure
- Choose Resources > Resources > Services > Basic Service.
- Click Enable Service.
The Enable Service page is displayed.
- Select the storage pool for which you want to enable the file service.
- Select Add Service in Operation.
This parameter is displayed only when at least one service is enabled on the nodes in the storage pool.
- Select File in Service Type.
- Based on service requirements, select at least three nodes in the Available Nodes area on the left and they are added to the Selected Nodes area on the right.
This operation is required only when the storage pool has not been enabled with any service. Otherwise, the system enables the file service for all nodes that have been enabled with another service.
- Click OK.
- Confirm your operation as prompted.
