Deleting a Namespace

This section describes how to delete a namespace to release storage space.

Services in the namespace have been stopped and are not shared.
You need to remove the namespace (including its dtrees) from the schedule to which it belongs. Otherwise, the namespace cannot be deleted.
If the object service has been enabled for the namespace, the .snapshot, .recyclebininternal, and .conflictdirinternal directories in the namespace will cause the namespace deletion to fail. Ensure that the snapshot directory, recycle bin directory, and conflict directory are invisible for the namespace and the namespace does not contain any object.
To set the snapshot directory to invisible, refer to Modifying Properties of a Namespace. To set the recycle bin directory to invisible, run the following command on the CLI:
```
change namespace general name=Namespace name is_trash_visible=false
```
To set the conflict directory to invisible, run the following command on the CLI:
```
change namespace general name=Namespace name is_conflict_visible=false
```

Choose Resources > Resources > Namespace.
Select a desired account from the Account drop-down list in the upper left corner.
Select one or more desired namespaces and click Delete.

You can also click More on the right of a desired namespace and select Delete.
Confirm your operation as prompted.

If the object service is enabled, after deleting a namespace, you must wait at least 5 minutes (maximum 10 minutes) before creating another namespace with the same name.
