Export the data of a storage system in a periodic manner and save the data in a safe place. This helps you know the operating status of the storage system and prevent the damage to the storage system caused by system faults and unexpected disasters. In case of a system fault, you can use the exported system data to locate and analyze the fault.
Context
- System logs, including running logs and installation and deployment logs of storage devices, can be used to analyze the running status of storage devices. The exported system log file is in *.tar.gz format.
- Node installation resources, including configuration files required for storage software installation, are used to pre-install storage software on nodes. The exported node storage resource file is in .zip format.
- Configuration information, referring to the configuration information about various components on devices, can be used for product archiving, and upgrade and capacity expansion evaluation. The exported file is in *.tar.gz format.
- Disk fault information can be used to locate faulty disks and analyze faults. The exported file is in *.tar.gz format.
- Disk S.M.A.R.T. information refers to the information detected by disks through the self-monitoring analysis and reporting technology (S.M.A.R.T.) module. The exported file is in *.tar.gz format.
