Updating a License File

This section describes how to upload and activate the latest license file so that you can use the features supported by the new license file.

Context

Only super administrators and administrators can update a license file.

Procedure

  1. Choose Settings > License Management.
  2. Update a license file.

    1. Click Update License.

      The Update License page is displayed on the right, where you can upload and activate another license file.

    2. In the License File area, click to go to the folder where the desired license file resides.
    3. Select the license file and click Open.

      The button displayed in the dialog box varies based on the browser in use. Perform operations according to the actual situation.

    4. Click Upload.
    5. View basic information about the license file. Table 1 describes related parameters.

      Parameter

      Description

      Old License SN

      Serial number of the old license.

      New License SN

      Serial number of the new license.

      Created

      Time when the new license file was created.

      Invalid Date

      Expiration date of the new license file.

      Status

      Status of the new license file.

    6. View the differences between inactive license files and active license files, including the service type, disk type and capacity, features, and specifications.
    7. (Optional) You can also export the differences between the active and inactive license files for future use. The procedure is as follows:
      1. Click Save Differences.
        A file download dialog box is displayed.

        The following example is based on Internet Explorer 11.

      2. Click Save As.

        The Save As dialog box is displayed.

      3. Set the save path and file name.
      4. Click Save.
    8. Click Activate.
    9. Confirm your operation as prompted.
