Creating a Namespace Scan Task

Prerequisites

• The storage system and antivirus servers are running properly.
• A namespace has been shared using the CIFS protocol.

Context

• A namespace can use only one namespace scan task. If a namespace already has a scan task, the original task will be modified if you create another task.
• An antivirus server scans a namespace only after a scan policy is configured and enabled for the namespace where the files to be scanned reside.

Procedure

1. Choose Settings > Data Security > Antivirus Service > Namespace Scan Tasks.
2. Select a desired account from the Account drop-down list in the upper left corner.
3. Click Create.

   The Create Namespace Scan Task page is displayed on the right.

4. In the Available Namespaces list, select one or more namespaces based on your service requirements. They will be automatically added to the right pane.
5. Select a scan policy.
   

   At least one antivirus scan policy must be enabled.

   1. Enable On-Demand Scan and select an on-demand scan policy.
      Select or deselect Scan Now as required. After Scan Now is selected, the system immediately scans the namespace for viruses based on the selected on-demand scan policy. You need to set the virus scan duration.

      

      If no on-demand scan policy exists, click Create to create one.

   2. Enable On-Access Scan and select an on-access scan policy.
      

      If no on-access scan policy exists, click Create to create one.

6. Click OK.
