Enabling the HDFS Service on a Node

Prerequisites

• A storage pool has been created.
• This operation can be performed only when no node with the HDFS service enabled exists in the storage pool. Otherwise, add nodes for the HDFS service by referring to Adding a Node for an Enabled Service.
• When Service Type is set to Intelligent video and image or Backup and archiving, the HDFS service is not supported.

Procedure

1. Choose Resources > Resources > Services > Basic Service.
2. Click Enable Service.

   The Enable Service page is displayed.

3. Select the storage pool for which you want to enable the HDFS service.
4. Select Add Service in Operation.
   

   This parameter is displayed only when at least one service is enabled on the nodes in the storage pool.

5. Select HDFS in Service Type.
6. Based on service requirements, select at least three nodes in the Available Nodes area on the left. They will be automatically added to the Selected Nodes area on the right.
   

   You need to select nodes only when all services (file, object, and HDFS services) of the storage pool are disabled. Otherwise, the system enables the HDFS service for all nodes where other services have been enabled by default.

7. Click OK.
