Modifying Account Information

This section describes how to enable the data encryption function of an account. The function cannot be disabled after being enabled.

Precautions

The name of built-in account system cannot be changed.

Procedure

  1. Choose Resources > Access > Account.
  2. Click More on the right of the desired account and select Modify.

    The Modify Account page is displayed.

  3. Select whether to enable the data encryption function. After this function is enabled, the system generates an account key to protect the data keys of volumes. The data encryption function of accounts and volumes can be used to encrypt data written to volumes to ensure data security.

    To use the data encryption function, you need to import an advanced license.

  4. After enabling Data Encryption, you need to set Key Service and select a key management service.

    • Internal key service: The built-in key management function of the system is used.
    • External key service: An external key management server is used. If you select this option, you need to configure the external key service first. For details, see Managing the External Key Service.

  5. Click OK.
