Adding an Object Cluster

This operation enables you to add an object cluster to a region.

Prerequisites

If the current cluster is a non-default cluster in a non-default region, this operation cannot be performed.

Procedure

  1. Choose Services > Object Service > Global Namespace.
  2. Click Add Object Cluster.

    The Add Object Cluster page is displayed on the right.

  3. Set object cluster parameters. Table 1 describes related parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

    Indicates the name of the cluster.

    [Value range]
    • The name contains 1 to 128 characters.
    • The name can contain only letters, digits, hyphens (-), and underscores (_), and must start with a letter and cannot end with a hyphen (-) or underscore (_).

    Mgmt. Floating IP Address

    Indicates the DeviceManager floating IP address of the cluster, used for communications between clusters.

    Domain Name

    Indicates the domain name of the cluster.

    [Value range]

    • A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-). A sub-domain name cannot start or end with a hyphen (-).
    • The domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each sub-domain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only.
    • A maximum of eight domain names with no hierarchical relationship can be entered. Separate the domain names with semicolons (;).

    Replication Domain Name

    Indicates the domain name of the replication network.

    [Value range]

    Supports IPv4 addresses or domain names. A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-) and cannot start or end with a hyphen (-). The domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each sub-domain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only.

    Username

    Indicates the user name for logging in to DeviceManager.

    Password

    Password for logging in to DeviceManager.

  4. Click OK.
