Managing Route Configuration

This chapter describes how to configure the route information for physical ports, bond ports, and VLANs.

Context

Static routes are manually configured to control route selection precisely. However, static routes cannot be automatically switched.

Policy-based routes are configured for route selection based on user-defined routing policies. After a policy-based route is configured, if received packets (including layer-2 packets) match the routing policy, they are forwarded based on the policy. Otherwise, such packets are forwarded based on the destination address configured in a static route.
