Creating a Disk Pool

This operation enables you to create a disk pool for a storage pool.

Procedure

  1. Choose Cluster > Cluster > Storage Pool.
  2. Click the name of the desired storage pool. On the page that is displayed, click the Disk Pool tab.
  3. Click Create.

    The Create Disk Pool page is displayed.

  4. Specify Disk Pool Name.

    • The name must be unique.
    • The name can contain only letters, digits, underscores (_), and hyphens (-).
    • The name contains 1 to 64 characters.

  5. Set Max. Main Storage Media per Node. This parameter indicates the maximum number of storage media that can be used by a single node to store user data. It determines the allocation of cache and compute resources on a node. Set this parameter based on site requirements.
  6. In the Choose Node and Disk area, select the nodes and disks that are used to create the disk pool.

    • You can click Add and add nodes and disks in the cluster on the Choose Node and Disk page that is displayed.
    • You can select one or more added nodes or disks and click Remove to remove them.

  7. Confirm your operation as prompted.

    When Status of a disk is To be added again due to disk re-insertion, you can select the faulty disk and click Re-add to Disk Pool to add the disk to the disk pool again.
