Creating a File System

This operation enables you to create a file system to share storage resources in the form of directories.

Procedure

  1. Choose Services > File Service > File System.
  2. Click Create.

    The Create File System page is displayed.

  3. Set basic information about the file system.

    Table 1 describes related parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

    Indicates the name of the file system.

    NOTE:
    • The name must be unique.
    • The name can contain only letters, digits, underscores (_), hyphens (-), and periods (.).
    • The name contains 1 to 255 characters.

    Storage Pool

    Indicates the storage pool to which the file system belongs.

    Redundancy Ratio

    Indicates the redundancy ratio of the file system.

  4. Click Advanced and set the advanced file system parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Automatic Update of Atime

    Indicates whether to enable the function of automatically updating the Atime. Atime indicates the last file system access time. After this function is enabled, the system updates the file system access time based on Update Frequency.

    NOTE:

    Enabling Automatic Update of Atime compromises system performance.

    Update Frequency

    Indicates the Atime update frequency. The value can be Hourly or Daily.

    Snapshot Directory Visibility

    Indicates whether snapshot directories of the file system are visible.

  5. Click OK.
  6. Confirm your operation as prompted.
