Overview of DeviceManager

DeviceManager is a storage management system. Before using DeviceManager, check the validity of the port range used by DeviceManager on the client.

The functions supported by the storage system may vary based on permissions of the imported license.

Allows you to monitor the cluster and its components and view related information.

Services
File Service:
  • File System allows you to create and manage file systems.
  • Share allows users and programs to access files on a remote system as if accessing local files.
  • Authentication User allows you to create and manage local authentication users and user groups.
  • Quota allows you to manage the number and size of files in a file system or file system dtree.
  • DPC allows you to create and manage DPC nodes.
  • Service Network allows you to create and manage the service network of the file service.
  • Tiering allows you to create a tiering policy so that files can be stored or migrated to disk pools of different tier grades.
Object Service:
  • Account allows you to create and modify accounts for accessing the object service and set storage policies for the accounts.
  • Bucket allows you to create and view account bucket resources and resource access policies.
  • Global Namespace allows you to create and manage regions, clusters, and global domain names.
  • DNS allows you to configure the domain name resolution service for the object service.
  • Service Network allows you to create and manage the service network of the object service.
  • Cold Storage allows you to store and read data in a cold storage device after connecting to the device.
  • AD Domain allows AD domain users to access the object service.
HDFS Service:
  • Account allows you to view information about the default HDFS service account.
  • File System allows you to create and manage file systems.
  • Service Network allows you to create and manage the service network of the HDFS service.
  • Tiering allows you to create a tiering policy so that files can be stored or migrated to disk pools of different tiers.

Data Protection
File Protection:
  • Snapshot allows you to manage snapshots of storage devices.
Object Protection:
  • Remote Replication ensures data consistency between clusters in a region and service continuity in the event of a link failure.

Monitor
  • Alarms and Events allows you to view and export alarms, logs and details about system events.
  • Performance Monitoring allows you to monitor the performance of selected objects by creating performance statistics charts.
  • Task Center allows you to view information about tasks created by the system and the task parameters.

Cluster
  • Control Cluster allows you to view and modify the cluster name and view information about the selected nodes in the cluster.
  • Hardware allows you to view details about nodes, disks, and ports.
  • Network Topology allows you to view structures of the management network, storage network, replication network, and iSCSI network.
  • Storage Pool allows you to integrate storage space of different disks for unified management.
  • Route allows you to view and configure route information for physical ports, bond ports, and VLANs, implementing data transmission across network segments.

Settings
Object Service Settings:
  • Basic Configuration allows you to configure basic parameters of the object service, including Object Service Request Response Namespace, Redirect to upon a Website Access Error, and Account Default Parity Fragments.
  • External Service allows you to configure information about the global location service (GLS) and regional location service (RLS), and view or modify the KMS encryption server and authentication information.
  • Security Settings allows you to configure security policies for the object service to improve system security.
  • Billing allows you to manage billing accounts and billing files.
File Service Settings:
  • External DNS Server allows you to connect the storage system to an external DNS server and access the storage system using an IP address or domain name.
  • Domain Authentication allows you to configure the LDAP and NIS services.
System Settings:
  • Time Settings allows you to view and adjust the time settings.
  • SNMP Protocol and SNMP Security Policy allow you to query and set system information and receive system alarms.
  • Alarm Notification allows you to specify email addresses, servers, NMSs, or devices at a specified address to which fault alarms are sent.
  • Alarm Dump allows you to automatically dump alarms that exceed the upper capacity limit to a specified application server.
  • Alarm Masking allows you to select the alarms to be reported.
  • Alarm Thresholds allows you to set alarm thresholds. If an alarm threshold is reached, the system reports an alarm to users.
  • Alarm Severity allows you to browse alarms by severity and set alarm severities.
  • License Management allows you to view license information as well as import and activate a license file.
  • Certificate Management allows you to view and manage certificates on the current device.
  • Security Policies allows you to set the user name policy, password policy, and login policy to ensure system security.
  • Users and Roles allows you to view and manage system users and roles.
  • Domain Authentication allows you to configure the LDAP service and log in to the storage system in LDAP server authentication mode, achieving unified management of user information.
  • Session Management allows you to view the current online users.
  • Access Control allows you to control the IP addresses that can access the storage system.
