Removing Nodes

This operation enables you to remove nodes that are no longer used from the storage cluster.

Prerequisites

No service is deployed on the faulty or unnecessary node to be removed. That is, the node is not used to create a storage pool, VBS client, DPC client, disaster recovery (DR) service, object service network, HDFS service network, or management cluster.

If the node to be removed is used to create the object service network, you need to reduce the capacity of the object service network first. However, DeviceManager does not support capacity reduction of the object service network. For details, see Reducing the Capacity of the Object Service Network in the Capacity Expansion and Reduction Guide.

Procedure

  1. On the menu bar, click and select Remove Node.

The Remove Node page is displayed.

  2. Authenticate the nodes to be removed.

    1. Select the desired nodes and click Authenticate.

The Authentication dialog box is displayed.

    2. Set Username, Password, and Password of root as required.
    3. Click OK.

  3. Click Remove.
  4. Confirm your operation as prompted.
