In a scenario where a system fault occurs or the quorum server fails to implement arbitration, you can forcibly enable the local or remote site to manually allow the local or remote site to continue to provide services.
Prerequisites
The following requirements must be met before you perform this operation: Link Status and Running Status of the HyperMetro pair are Disconnected and Paused or To be synchronized respectively, and the local resource data is unreadable and unwritable.
Context
- If the HyperMetro service works in static priority mode or the HyperMetro service encounters concurrent faults, the storage array at the preferred site malfunctions and cannot take over the HyperMetro service. As a result, the HyperMetro service pauses. Forcibly start the service at the non-preferred site to restore the HyperMetro service.
- When the HyperMetro service works in static priority mode or the HyperMetro service encounters concurrent faults, if one storage system can carry services, do not forcibly start the faulty storage system to carry host services.
Procedure
- Choose Data Protection > Block Protection > HyperMetro Pair.
- Select one or more desired HyperMetro pairs and click Force Start.
You can also click More on the right of a desired HyperMetro pair and select Force Start.
- Confirm your operation as prompted.
