Creating a Local Authentication User

This operation enables you to create a local authentication user to access account resources.

Prerequisites

You have created a local authentication user group.

Procedure

  1. Choose Services > HDFS Service > Account.
  2. Click the name of an account and select the Access User tab.
  3. Click Create on the Local Authentication User tab page.

    The Create Local Authentication User page is displayed.

  4. Set basic information about the local authentication user.

    Table 1 describes related parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

    Indicates the name of the local authentication user.

    NOTE:

    A user name:

    • Must be unique.
    • Contains 1 to 64 characters.
    • Can contain only letters, digits, underscores (_), hyphens (-), and periods (.), and cannot start with a hyphen (-).

    ID

    Indicates the ID of the local authentication user.

    [Value range]

    0 to 4294967295

    NOTE:

    An ID uniquely identifies a local authentication user. If no ID is specified, the system automatically allocates one.

    Primary Group

    Selects the primary group (a local authentication user group) to which the local authentication user belongs.

    NOTE:

    The primary group controls the user's permission to access account resources. A user must and can only belong to one primary group.

    Description

    Indicates the description of the local authentication user.

    The value contains 0 to 255 characters.

  5. Click OK.
