Adding a Region

This operation enables you to add non-default regions to implement global unified management.

Prerequisites

You can add a non-default region only to the default object cluster in the default region.

Context

Supports deployment of multiple regions. Each region contains one or more available object clusters. In the default region, you can create regions and enable other created non-default regions. In a non-default region, you can only view and modify its properties.

Procedure

  1. Choose Services > Object Service > Global Namespace.
  2. Click Add Region.

    The Add Region page is displayed on the right.

  3. Configure region parameters. Table 1 describes related parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

    Indicates the name of the region, which must be unique.

    [Value range]

    • The name contains 1 to 32 characters.
    • The name can contain letters, digits, and hyphens (-), and must start with a letter and cannot end with a hyphen (-).

    Domain Name

    Indicates the domain name of the region.

    [Value range]

    • A domain name contains 3 to 253 characters, including lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens (-). A subdomain name cannot start or end with a hyphen (-).
    • A domain name must contain a second-level domain name. Each subdomain name contains 1 to 63 characters and is separated from each other using periods (.). The top-level domain name cannot contain digits only.
    • A maximum of eight domain names with no hierarchical relationship can be entered. Separate the domain names with semicolons (;).
    NOTE:

    You can set a domain name for each region as the access point of the object service in the region. Plan and apply for region domain names in advance based on the network configuration.

  4. Click OK.
