Configuring ALUA

This operation enables you to configure ALUA for a host.

Procedure

  1. Choose Services > Block Service > Host > Host.
  2. Select the host to be configured with ALUA and click Configure ALUA.

    The Configure ALUA page is displayed.

  3. Select the switchover mode and path type of the host.

    Table 1 describes related parameters.

    Switchover Mode

    Indicates the path switchover mode. Modes Disable ALUA and Enable ALUA are supported.

    NOTE:

    The multipathing mode type of a host initiator:

    ALUA is a multi-target port access model. In the multipathing state, the ALUA mode presents active/passive volumes to the host and provides a port access status switchover interface to switch over the working controllers for volumes. For example, when a controller fails, the status of the controller port is set to Unavailable. After the host multipathing software that supports ALUA has learned the status, it switches I/Os from the failed controller to the peer controller.

    Path Type

    Indicates the path type of a host.

  4. Click OK.
  5. Confirm your operation as prompted.
