Creating a Subnet

If no subnet is created in the storage system, you can create a subnet for configuring the service plane of the HDFS service.

Context

Only one subnet can be created in a storage system.

Procedure

  1. Choose Services > HDFS Service > Service Network.
  2. Click Create Subnet.

    The Create Subnet page is displayed.

  3. Set basic subnet information.

    Table 1 describes related parameters.

    Parameter

    Description

    Subnet Name

    Indicates the name of the subnet.

    NOTE:
    • The name contains 1 to 31 characters.
    • The name can contain only letters, digits, underscores (_), hyphens (-), and periods (.).
    • The name must start with a letter and cannot end with an underscore (_), hyphen (-), or period (.).

    IP Address Type

    Indicates the IP address type of the subnet. The HDFS service supports IPv4 only.

    NOTE:

    The value cannot be modified after the subnet is created, or you can only delete the subnet and create a new one.

    Subnet Gateway

    Indicates the gateway of the subnet IP address.

    Subnet Mask

    Indicates the subnet mask of the subnet IP address and identifies the subnet to which the IP address belongs.

    DNS

    You are advised to enable DNS.

    After enabling DNS, setting a subdomain name for a zone, and enabling DNS for the zone, the HDFS service of the zone can be accessed through the subdomain name.

    IP Address of DNS Service in Subnet

    This parameter is available only when DNS is enabled.

    Subnet Root Domain Name

    This parameter is available only when DNS is enabled.

  4. Click OK.
