Managing Alarm Notification
By managing alarms, you can learn about the real-time system status as well as promptly discover and troubleshoot faults, ensuring proper system running.
Managing Alarm Dump
If you enable the alarm dump function, events and cleared alarms will be automatically dumped to a specific FTP or SFTP server as soon as their number exceeds a system-definable threshold.
Managing Alarm Masking
If alarm masking is enabled, DeviceManager does not monitor or report alarms about specified objects or certain unimportant alarms, thereby improving efficiency in locating faults. These masked alarms are not reported to the upper-layer network management system (NMS), namely, a third-party NMS connected to the storage system.
Managing Alarm Thresholds
After you set thresholds for system resources, when thresholds are reached, the system generates alarms for notification.
Modifying Alarm Severity
This operation enables you to modify alarm severity based on the fault severity.
