Managing Certificates

If the storage system communicates with external devices, you are advised to enable certificate verification to improve service security. This section describes how to generate and export certificate request files and how to import and activate signed certificates.

• Viewing Certificates
  This operation enables you to view the certificates of the current storage device.
• Exporting a Certificate Request File
  This operation enables you to export a certificate request file. After signing the file, you can import a new certificate.
• Importing and Activating a Certificate
  When a storage system is communicating with an external device, you are advised to use the certificate verification mode to improve service security. It is recommended that you replace the default security certificate with a certificate applied from an official authority and replace the certificate that is about to expire in a timely manner. This operation enables you to import and activate a certificate.
• Modifying a Certificate
  This operation enables you to change the expiration warning days or private key encryption password of a certificate.
