After a storage system is connected to a DNS server, you can access the storage system through the server IP address. This operation enables you to configure the IP addresses of the active and standby DNS servers for the file service.
Context
- A DNS server is used to resolve names of hosts in a domain.
- If you want to configure a standby DNS server, keep the domain names of the active and standby servers consistent.
Procedure
- Choose Settings > File Service Settings > External DNS Server.
- Configure an IP address for the DNS service.
- Click Edit.
- Set Active DNS IP Address.
- (Optional) Set Standby DNS IP Address.
- (Optional) Test the connection between the DNS server and the storage system.
You can click Test next to the DNS IP address to test its availability.
- Click Save.
