Creating a Snapshot

This operation enables you to create a snapshot for a volume to generate a copy of source volume data. You can read and write this copy without changing the source data.

Procedure

  1. Choose Services > Block Service > Volume.
  2. Select the volumes for which you want to create a snapshot and click Create Snapshot.

    The Create Snapshot page is displayed.

    You can also click More on the right of a desired volume and select Create Snapshot.

  3. Set the snapshot name.

    • A snapshot name must be unique.
    • A snapshot name can contain letters, digits, underscores (_), and hyphens (-).
    • The name contains 1 to 95 characters.

  4. Click OK.
  5. Confirm your operation as prompted.
