Viewing System Information

This operation enables you to learn about the overall conditions of a storage system from the system information view.

Procedure

  1. Click Home.

    Figure 1 DeviceManager home page

The functions supported by the storage system may vary based on permissions of the imported license.

  2. In the Hardware area, view the hardware information about the storage system.

    • Disks: displays disk information (excluding system disks), including the numbers of faulty, subhealthy, and healthy disks.
    • Servers: displays server information, including the numbers of faulty and healthy servers.

You can click More in the upper right corner of the Hardware area to view hardware details on the Hardware page.

  3. In the Alarms area, view the alarm information about the storage system, including the total number of alarms, alarm severity, and the number of alarms of each severity.

You can click More in the upper right corner of the Alarms area to view details about current alarms and events of the storage system on the Alarms and Events page.

  4. In the Services area, view the service types supported by the storage system. Service types include block, file, object, and HDFS services.

If the system license supports the service type, you can click to access the service configuration page.

  5. In the Available Capacity area, view the capacity information of each service type in the storage system. You can view information about the disk type, total capacity, and capacity usage.

    • If you have uploaded a purchased license, the capacity information is displayed based on the license type.
    • When the ratio of the used capacity to the total capacity exceeds 80%, the progress bar is in orange, indicating that the capacity is about to be used up.
    • Storage system capacity conversion: 1 PB = 1,024 TB, 1 TB = 1,024 GB, 1 GB = 1,024 MB, 1 MB = 1,024 KB, and 1 KB = 1,024 bytes

  6. In the Top 5 Storage Pool Capacity Trend area, view the capacity trend of the top 5 storage pools sorted by capacity usage in descending order.

You can click More in the upper right corner of the Top 5 Storage Pool Capacity Trend area to view details about existing storage pools of the storage system on the Storage Pool page.

  7. In the Performance area, view the performance indicators of each type of service in the storage system.

    • Block: A curve chart is displayed, indicating the latency, IOPS, and bandwidth of the block service.
    • Object: A curve chart is displayed, indicating the number of requests per second and bandwidth of the object service.
    • HDFS: A curve chart is displayed, indicating the IOPS and bandwidth of the HDFS service.
