Use this procedure to help resolve problems with communications
for IBM® i5/OS®.
Verify the following:
- Make sure that all communications equipment, such as modems or
transceivers, are started.
- Make sure all communication cables are correctly connected.
- Make sure the remote system is ready to receive communications.
- Verify that the network equipment (or provider) is functional. This includes telephone service (for example, verify the status of communication
lines).
- Verify that the configuration is correctly specified for the failing
communications or LAN facility.
- If you still have the same problem, contact your next level of
support or your hardware service provider.
