Checking for a duplicate IP address

Use this procedure to check for a duplicate IP address.

Perform these steps to check for a duplicate IP address.

  1. On the HMC, right-click the desktop and select terminal > rshterm.
  2. At the terminal, issue this command: lssyscfg -r sys -F "name,ipaddr" A list of managed systems' names and their IP address (or host name) will be displayed.
  3. Check to see if there are duplicates.
