Use this procedure to help resolve problems when the remote control
interface of Operations Console is not working correctly for i5/OS®.
- Are you able to change modes or select system functions using the
remote control panel feature?
- Yes: Continue with the next step.
- No: Make sure the Operations Console cable is attached
correctly. Using the Operations Console display, disconnect and then reconnect
the server connection. If the same failure occurs, contact your next level
of support or your hardware service provider.
- Are the remote control panel functions (Function/Data, Mode and
Power) correctly displayed?
- Yes: Use the remote control panel to start an IPL
(initial program load) and continue with the next step.
- No: Contact your next level of support or your
hardware service provider.
- Was the IPL successfully started?
- Yes: Continue the IPL process.
- No: Contact your next level of support or your
hardware service provider.
