Learn how to collect vital product data (VPD) with Service Focal
Point for the HMC.
To collect vital product data (VPD), follow these steps:
- In the navigation area, open Service Applications.
- Select Service Focal Point.
- Select Collect VPD information. The
Inventory Scout Data Collection window is displayed.
- Select the managed system that you want to collect data for and
click Next.
- Insert a blank, formatted diskette into the floppy drive and click Finish.
- After you are finished, click Cancel.
