Learn how to use the HMC to determine which side of the service
processor you are booting from.
Note: You should usually be running on the Temporary side.
- From the HMC command
line, issue the following command:
lssyscfg -r sys
- Identify the managed system you are working with by looking for
the system number at the beginning of the block of output, and look for this
parameter: curr_power_on_side.
- Record the information that is displayed in the results for curr_power_on_side
(either temp or perm). You will
need this information later in this procedure if you decide to change the
boot side.
- If you need to change the boot side, refer to Switching to the other side of the service processor.
