Although there are limitations to how you can implement i5/OS® on IBM System p5™ and eServer™ p5 servers,
many functions are still available.
Supported functions when running i5/OS on IBM System p5 and eServer p5 servers including
the following:
- Micro-Partitioning™ (only after
you enter the Advanced POWER™ Virtualization activation
code for the IBM System p5 and eServer p5 server)
- Dynamic logical partitioning
- Virtual Ethernet
- Integrated xSeries® adapters
(when they are installed within the 9411-100 I/O subsystem)
